Innovation and DIY are forbidden

March 8, 2007

The government wishes to remind citizens that, while there is a looming crisis in oil and with climate and the environment, it is something your caring government will take care of for you. Remember, you are not to innovate in any way or take it into your own hands to better your own situation. Doing so undermines your government’s ability to ensure that Exxon Mobile make profit. Doing so will result in harsh penalties, no matter who you are:

“Since the initial visit by the agents on Jan. 4, the Wetzels have been involved in a struggle with the Illinois Department of Revenue. The couple, who live on a fixed budget, have been asked to post a $2,500 bond and threatened with felony charges.”[emphasis mine]

That is all. Please return to you regularly scheduled and approved activities. Soma will be issued at the regular time.

  1. Ian Scott Says:

This is so pathetic, it’s funny – except for the fact that two individuals are being forced to spend their time and resources with the threat of physical force if they don’t comply.

  2. theconverted Says:

    Bizarre, but sadly, not unexpected…
